Our Village Is Our Community

Community - Values

Sense of Belonging- Being a part of a community gives us a sense of belonging, and is something larger than ourselves. It gives us a shared identity with others who have similar interests, values and goals.

Social Support – Communities provide us with social support which is important for our emotional well-being. When in a community, we have people to turn to for help and support during difficult times. It is always helpful to have a group of people or individuals, to avoid spiraling into a negative state emotionally and mentally. As social beings, we are in need of social interaction and support for a healthy lifestyle.

Positive impact on mental health – Being in a community has been linked to improve mental health outcomes. It keeps us from isolating ourselves and gives us a sense of purpose and meaning.

Civic Engagement – Communities are also important for promoting civic engagement and social responsibility. By working together as a group, we can identify and address issues that affect our community and advocate for positive change.

Mentorship - bridging connections and fostering leadership

Mentors are recruited and identified referral from the Liberated Village community, volunteer opportunities, and overall individuals that have relevant knowledge, chronic illness, or life experiences supporting individuals with chronic illness, active listening skills, growth mindset, great communicator, and positive attitude.

We also has a small network of dedicated health practitioners that support scholars and parents via training and seminars as needed.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - We confront systemic racism that still persists in our society.

Victorious Youth Program LLC, and the Liberated Village Academy, is committed to addressing systemic racism. We approach the topic of chronic illness and disability through a racial justice lens.

We’re dedicated to equipping scholars with tools that celebrate their cultural identity. This includes acknowledging the ways systemic racism has impacted individuals and communities, and working to dismantle the structures that perpetuate it.

By confronting systemic racism, Victorious Youth Program LLC hopes to create a more just and equitable society. We encourage parents and caretakers to join our efforts, as it requires all of us to victoriously reach meaningful change.
